Does the tuner need an internet connection?
The page needs to load once, but tuning itself runs entirely on your device — microphone audio is never sent anywhere.
Why does the tuner need microphone permission?
Without mic access the browser can't analyse the pitch of the string you're playing. The signal is processed locally only and is never stored.
Can I tune a bass or a 7/8-string guitar?
Yes — the tuning list includes 4- and 5-string bass, 7- and 8-string guitar tunings, and baritone tunings.
What does the capo setting do?
It shows the sounding pitch each string will actually produce with the capo at that fret — the open string's own tuning target doesn't change.
